Berlin-based photo artist Ute Lindner is known for her large-format cyanotypes of up to 80 square meters, which she creates as curtains or wall coverings. In this 2-day workshop she will create with the participants cyanotypes on textiles. In addition to the historical backround, she will explain the different approaches and implementation possibilities of this historical procedure.
The cyanotype is a traditional copying process that produces bright blue images under sunlight. The non-toxic emulsion can be applied to various image carriers such as fabric (cotton, linen, silk, etc.) by means of printed films or objects in real Prussian blue are created by UV exposure.

In the lecture we present a single photo, with an audio description for the blind visitors (2 min.), and a curatorial commentary by Matthias Harder, Helmut Newton Foundation (about 10 min.). Followed by a discussion.

On the occasion of the exhibition »The Potemkin Village« an artist talk will take place at Kehrer Gallery with Gregor Sailer. Following Closed Cities (Kehrer 2012), Gregor Sailer’s new project once again presents actual architectural manifestations driven by political, military, and economic motives: combat training centers in the USA and Europe, faithful replicas of European cities in China, and vehicle test cities in Sweden.

More than a catalogue, a point of maintenance. Pictures of an urban space, unseen up to now. More than a party zone or touri destination, filled with resistance. Colourful & Hip, but with regard for niches & abysses.
