Als Randgruppen sind Obdachlose und Punks ein kaum beachteter Teil unserer Gesellschaft. Obwohl sie und ihre schwierige soziale Situation besonders in Großstädten nicht zu übersehen sind, werden sie oft im Vergleich zu anderen Problemgruppen (z.B. Kinder und Jugendliche) geradezu tabuisiert. Die Fotografien von Ernst Rinck zeigen Berlin von dieser anderen Seite: Er hat Berliner Obdachlose und Punks in ihrem Alltag auf dem Alexanderplatz, am Bahnhof Zoo und am Kottbusser Tor aufgesucht und ermöglicht uns mit seinen Bildern einen Blick auf Details, die wir sonst gern übersehen.
Ernst Rinck, Jahrgang 1938, begann mit 14 Jahren zur fotografien. Später experimentierte er mit einem selbstgebauten Vergrößerungsapparat, der Dia- und Unterwasserfotografie. Seit 2000 beschäftigt sich Rinck in seinen Arbeiten mit Menschen im sozialen Abseits.
