Unterwegs - Antiquariat und Galerie M.-L. Surek-Becker
Seit den Jahren, in denen Frank Silberbach seine fotografierten Panoramen allwöchentlich in den Magazinbeilagen der Samstagsausgaben der Berliner Zeitung veröffentlichte, gehört die Panoramafotografie ganz wesentlich zu seinen Aktivitäten. Als Berliner und mithin Großstädter richtet sich sein fotografischer Fokus auf die Menschen in dieser Stadt. Dabei folgt er der Straßen- und Lifefotografie, nur mit dem entscheidenden Unterschied, dass die Panoramaform noch schwieriger zu bewältigen ist. Denn die Breite dieses Formats will gefüllt werden, damit wirkliche Bilder entstehen. Frank Silberbach hat sich dafür über Jahre einen Blick angeeignet, der bewusst wie intuitiv das Alltagsgeschehen danach ausspäht, ob sich solch komplexe Szenarien anbahnen, um sie dann im entscheidenden Moment festzuhalten. Mit ausgeprägtem Gespür für das Situative zeigen uns Frank Silberbachs Bilder authentische Alltagsszenen, nie denunzierend, aber nicht selten mit ironischem oder humorvollem Unterton.
