Streeple (street people) erkundet die komplexe Zone zwischen Empathie und Ausbeutung, Identifikation und Voyeurismus.
Die Beteiligten verstehen die von ihnen porträtierten Subjekte nicht als Modelle, sondern als Protagonisten, ausgesucht aufgrund ihrer wesenseigenen Erscheinung. Der Dokumentarcharakter dieser Bilder macht dem Betrachter wie auch dem Protagonisten die Originalität ihrer Person bewusst. Der Austausch zwischen Protagonist und Fotograf dient als Basis einer schrittweisen Vertrauensentwicklung. Dieser Prozess stärkt das Selbstbewusstsein des fotografierten Individuums und verhilft ihm zu mehr Sichtbarkeit. Das Recht am Abbild fordern, wie die Fotografin J. Jackie Baier es ausdrückt von denjenigen, die an den Randzonen der Gesellschaft leben. Die Mise-en-scène der Bilder unterstreicht den Wahrhaftigkeitscharakter der Realität. Herausgehoben werden soll, dass in jedem Foto der Akt des Posierens inbegriffen ist, egal wie unmittelbar die Handlung auch sein mag.
