Technical Matters zeigt fotobasierte Arbeiten von Holger Bär, Tony Conway, Jay Mark Johnson und Stefan Roloff. Die vier Künstler nutzen auf unterschiedlichste Weise die Möglichkeiten der digitalen Fotografie. Bärs Malmaschinen übersetzen Foto-Vorlagen in das traditionelle Medium der Ölmalerei. Sein Interesse gilt der Frage, wie Fotografie unser Weltbild verändert hat. Conway bearbeitet digitale Fotografien so weit am Computer, bis sich ihre Essenz in beinahe abstrakten Formen erschließt. Auf Plexiglasschichten durch Malerei und Zeichnungen verstärkt, überlagern sich digitale und manuelle Verfahren zu einer plastischen Gesamtwirkung. Johnson arbeitet mit einer modifizierten Panoramakamera. Die räumliche x-Achse des Bildes wird durch eine zeitliche ersetzt. Seine Bilder eröffnen damit ungewohnte Sichtweisen. Roloff, Pionier computergestützter Bildbearbeitung, vereint in seiner Porträtserie When 6 is 9 Innen- und Außenaufnahmen im selben Bild, um verschiedene Momente einer Person festzuhalten.
