Noir Complex präsentiert neun Positionen, die die Ästhetik und Thematik des vorwiegend filmisch und literarisch verorteten Genres aufgreifen und erweitern. Entlang übergeordneter Begriffe wie City(Stadt), Destruction (Zerstörung) oder Death (Tod) werden Orte und Strukturen, Erzählweisen und gesellschaftliche Totalitäten reflektiert. Die ausgestellten Storyboard-Sequenzen, seriellen Dokumentationen, fotografischen Inszenierungen, Found-Footage-Projektionen oder Bild/Text Kombinationen machen deutlich, wie mannigfach die Themen und formalen Möglichkeiten des Noir sind. Die Arbeiten sprechen von subtiler Gewalt, sozialer Destruktion, urbaner Erosion, tödlicher Bedrohung und politischen Umtrieben. Eine unterschwellige Bedrohung prägt die Atmosphäre der Arbeiten.
