Die vom Russischen Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur (RHWK) und der Nachrichtenagentur RIA Novosti (RIAN) gestaltete Ausstellung zeigt die Entwicklungen in russischen und deutschen Großstädten vor allem in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten auf. So unterschiedlich sich die einzelnen RIA Novosti-Fotografen ihrem Thema nähern, so unterschiedlich sind auch ihre Perspektiven auf das Thema Stadt sowie die Emotionen und Eindrücke, die sie damit widerspiegeln. Leben in der Stadt. Russisch-deutsche Impressionen vermittelt neben einem vielschichtigen Mosaik des Stadtlebens beider Länder auch ein differenziertes Bild ihrer Bewohner. Die zum Teil eher zufällig entstanden Fotografien präsentieren allesamt die Arbeiten sehr talentierter Fotografen, so von Mikhail Fomichev, Ruslan Krivobok, Alexei Danichev, Iliya Pitalev, Vladimir Vyatkin, Sergej Shuravljev und weiteren.
