Die Straße als Bühne des Lebens: Nie zuvor konnte ein Medium derart spontane und unverfälschte Bilder des großstädtischen Lebens zeichnen wie die Fotografie. Grundlegend hierfür war die Erfindung der Kleinbild-Kamera Mitte der 1920er Jahre, die es ermöglichte, die Stadt und ihre Menschen ohne großen Aufwand in den Fokus zu rücken. Für den diesjährigen Monat der Fotografie, der die Frage nach der Rolle der Fotografie bei der Modernisierung unserer Lebenswelten stellt, dokumentiert der Kunsthandel Jörg Maaß in einem Überblick über Street Photography. Beispiele aus sechs Jahrzehnten die Straße als vielfältigen, sich ständig wandelnden Lebensraum. Dabei umfasst die Ausstellung die bedeutenden Jahre der street photography zunächst in Europa, später in Amerika, von den 1930er Jahren bis in die frühen 1990er Jahre und darüber hinaus. Gezeigt werden international bekannte Fotografen wie Brassaï, Brandt, Callahan, Cartier-Bresson, Davidson, Faurer, Levinstein, Levitt, Weegee u.a.
