The Budapest photographer Daniel Nemeth, winner of this years László-Moholy-Nagy Scholarship for Photography, spent three months from April to June investigating the phenomenon of Berlin à la mode on location. His camera has captured not only the new lifestyle of contemporary Berlin which is conquering the world, but also the citys reflection on its own urbanisation.
A common interest in Berlin and similar means of expression (under the bracket of street photography) has brought Nemeth together with the photographer and painter Ágnes Lörincz. Originally from Transylvania, she has been living in Berlin for some time. The present exhibition juxtaposes Nemeths ethnographic urban images with the textile and photographic collages of Ágnes Lörincz as an expression of Berlins fashion and lifestyle. The resulting photo paintings and slide shows have been based on fashion advertising panels in Berlin and elsewhere.
