In the urban environment of unknown people, rituals and values, the camera may achieve, in lucky moments, a transitory glimpse into the world of another life. The moment of taking a photograph becomes a potential moment of contact. The finished picture can link in with the experience, offering outsiders a view of this excerpt of an encounter.
Our project room is situated in a culturally heterogeneous district where rapid change is the norm. People of very different origins are living in close proximity, without needing to come into contact with one another. Our window on the street shows us on a daily basis, however, that interest in the environment exists and can encourage many different forms of contact from the brief exchange of glances to fully-fledged dialogue.
The exhibition in-complete un-known shows pictures of people and rituals, of changing and personal locations. The window has been incorporated into the conceptual framework of exhibition: every evening a different image from the exhibition is projected to the outside world.
