The central theme of the photographic and video works of Susanne Huth lies in the interfaces of daily life, urban space and their representation in the mass media. Huths spatial environment and personal surroundings are the starting point of her artistic work. Parkour (2009/2010) was created in Paris, where she lived for a number of months. Like one tracing a parcours, the artist moves through the Boulevard Périphérique and the adjoining Parisian suburbs, so illustrating the various different aspects of the economic and historical urban situation at the boundary of Paris. The resulting film is combined with a series of photographs of individual buildings and architectural features, giving rise to a spatial installation.
