As a fine artist, media artist, university professor and musician, Manuel Schroeder has been making waves since 1991 with exhibitions, publications, solo projects and collaborations. His artistic interest focuses on significant themes, facets and findings of urban life in the living and working spaces of Germanys cities. His visual works take up a position in response to the subtle messages, relations and conflicts in the self-created and constructed world of human beings. Avoiding deliberately staged effects as a matter of principle, his pictures juxtapose the social and architectural context with the artistic perception of the complex and momentary aperçu. His project Raumordnung Le moment suprême [Spatial Organisation The Supreme Moment] is the artistic realisation of issues relating to the subjective appearance of human projections and emotions in the individually grasped situation, and their merging with the données of the urban ambiance.
