The term studio partly suggests the experimental character of the project, but at the same time these works by Mike Bourscheid, Mike Lamy, Justine Blau and Gerson Bettencourt focus on the room which they depict.

In Mike Bourscheids work natural history comes together with personal experiences and findings, giving rise to a real/fictional regional narrative. In the outlines and in the variations of colour and shading, Mike Lamys photo series approaches an industrial architecture that appears increasingly abstract. Justine Blau investigates concepts like exoticism and foreignness with the help of miniature models, which she carefully reconstructs from pictures found on the internet. In this way she investigates the influence of the media on our view of the world. In their choice of a specific angle of vision, Gerson Bettencourts portraits simultaneously point to the relation between perception and presentation of a picture.
