To loop is an exhibition that focuses on the metropolis. This is understood as a system consisting of urban space, nature as its opposite pole and the players who inhabit it. Three collections by young photographers reflect the dialectic interplay of the situation. They are Gábor Arion Kudász (Hungary), Rui Vilela (Portugal) and Ivan Marignoni (Italy). A feature in common to all three artists is that their works move on an international radius. Coming from different regions of Europe, they visualise global phenomena. Kudász Waste Union focuses on the dichotomy between nature and culture and the effects of urbanisation. Marignonis subjective photography engages with the interaction between urban space and the individual. The blurred focus emphasises the geometry created by human beings which structures the metropolis. The port of Reykjavik and its relation to the city constitute Vilelas chosen subject: the landscape provides a backdrop, the human being becomes part of processes that unfold.
