Ellipsen [Ellipses]: from the Greek elleipsis absence, omission, leaving out
In her work Ellipsen [Ellipses], Sabine Schründer engages with modern social networks and communication platforms like Facebook and Twitter. In this exhibition designed on the lines of an installation, the artist brings together photographs, objects and videos which meet one another in encrypted form, suggestive of the ever more attenuated possibilities of communication within these systems. The visual and substantial emptiness of these platforms is treated as a phenomenon for artistic interpretation.
