This exhibition has been organised by the Russian House of Science and Culture and the news agency RIA Novosti (RIAN). It highlights developments in major Russian and German cities, above all in the last two decades. The individual RIA Novosti photographers vary widely in their approach, and they are equally varied in their views of the urban theme and the emotions and impressions they reflect from it. Leben in der Stadt. Russisch-deutsche Impressionen [Living in the City Germano-Russian Impressions] presents a multilayered mosaic of urban life; it also conveys a differentiated view of the citys inhabitants. Many of them having been created off the cuff, these pictures together represent the work of highly talented photographers like Mikhail Fomichev, Ruslan Krivobok, Alexei Danichev, Iliya Pitalev, Vladimir Vyatkin, Sergei Shuravliev and others.
