Using the resources of photography and video, Maria Vedders exhibition Energieverlust [Loss of Energy] casts light on scientific phenomena. The installation Susurrus, for example, transforms the discharge of an electrical current into an audiovisual composition in space. Her work Aus dem Nichts [Ex Nihilo] is a deliberately staged experiment for the visualisation of chaos theory, playfully illustrated with reference to the phenomenon of traffic jams. Allianzen [Alliances] likewise engages with the theme of loss of control a miniature that casts a mildly ironic look at the chaos of the financial world. NoSenses takes processed newspaper images as the base for investigation of communication in and by means of the mass media.
