At the Kulturbrauerei, fiftyfive freelance photographers of the Berlin-based professional organization Berufsverband Freier Fotografen und Filmgestalter (BFF) and guests from all over Germany present their works on the theme “Reverse Forward.” The spectrum here ranges from notions of backwards, of reversal and a passive pause to an assertive pressing forward, striking out, an active transmission. The diversity of the photographers’ themes leads to a variety of responses. Melancholy and agitation, departure, joy, progress and loss, political statements, multifaceted perspectives on transience and bold depictions in the social discourse create a fascinating dialogue.
Additionally, in their lectures on their projects and within the context of both commissioned works and free concepts, fourteen photographers offer a peek behind the scenes in professional photography.
