The project 'Nova Paranoia' is based on the model Artneuland, a platform dedicated to the trialogue between the three monotheistic cultures based on pictures, the written word and personal contact. The main emphasis is on intercultural dialogue and coming to grips with topical issues. This building of bridges between people and cultures should encourage artistic products and results.
The project is being staged by artists in collaboration with a team of curators and academics, resulting in a kind of laboratory situation that is designed to cast light on the background and mechanisms of paranoia. Paranoia in this connection is interesting as a phenomenon that exacerbates people's anxieties, and so can be made an instrument for the processes of political decision-making. Having grown from an isolated phenomenon to achieve global proportions, paranoia is fundamentally based on a latent quality of 'suspicion'. This exercises an influence on the entire condition of society, as well as having political and legislative consequences.
