Since 1993 Ralf Wehrle and Uwe Frank have been working together, under their studio name Black & White. For the two photo designers and photographic artists, the creation of original pictorial conceptions is something completely taken for granted. They do not just express objective states of affairs, but also convey subjective sensations, feelings and aspirations. When graphic worlds are conceived and staged through the medium of photography, it creates a new dimension one that gives a base to pictorial reality and possesses an autonomous aesthetic value.
The programme for the year 2008 at the A trans Pavilion in the Hackeschen Höfe carries the title 'An intimac(it)y'. Under the auspices of the 3rd European Month of Photography 2008, Ralf Wehrle and Uwe Frank will be putting their new pictorial theme 'Partitionen2' in the showcase. Their works show naked bodies and naked skin from an 'architectonic' point of view. In purist style, they pay tribute to the theme of the pavilion: 'An intimac(it)y intimacy and city together'.
