The artists Daniel and Geo Fuchs have been working together on conceptual projects for the past 15 years. Their work is frequently concerned with the idea of 'collecting' and 'collections'. For their 'Conserving' project they spent five years, from 1995 to 2000, photographing animal and human remains preserved in alcohol in various European anatomical and natural science collections with a large-format camera. Based on this, in the year 2001 the artist duo created a work for the German rock band Rammstein. The artwork for the band's album 'Mutter' ['Mother'] arranged the musicians underwater in a gigantic basin. The artists' most recent works have involved the scenic arrangement of floral underwater worlds. The exhibition created for Stiftung Starke at Löwenpalais Grunewald juxtaposes these two projects, giving rise to an intensive and absorbing dialogue.
Since 1998 the work of the Fuchs duo has been on view in a great many international exhibitions, both on their own and in conjunction with other artists. It has also been shown at art trade fairs all over the world.
