'I often forget how little we need to be happy. I know this, but all the same I forget it. My Krasohled/Schönbildschauer cycle is not based on any artistic or intellectual conceptions. The main reason for my taking these pictures was the wish to capture the happiest moments of life and to preserve the record as an occasional reminder for myself and those close to me.' That is the comment of Czech photographer Vojtech V. Sláma (born in Brno in 1974) on his Krasohled/Schönbildschauer cycle which maps out his visions of a happy and fulfilled life, mirroring his attitudes and perceptions. These photographs tell stories of people who leave the city to lead a simple life in the country, or set off on their travels. They take time for themselves and for their nearest and dearest. It is as if time has come to a stop, and only the magic of the present moment remains.
