19 h | DIE SCHLAGZEUGMAFIA

Die Schlagzeugmafia (transl.: the drummafia) is a network of rhythm gangsters based in Berlin, Hamburg and Mannheim. Instead of spreading fear and terror these gentlemen attack with an artistic drumshow full of groove, action and lots of fun. Their mission: “Beat Entertainment”. Their tools: Seven drums in a line and ten sticks as swift as an arrow. Their prey: The clenched attention and ecstatic enthusiasm of the audience.

20.30 h | THE JOOLES

THE JOOLES from Berlin prove that pop doesn’t need genre classifications. It’s all about great melodies and grooves which wind into your memory to move both the heart and the body. Daria, Alex, Katharina and Richie mix the musical frame just as they like between beat, disco, garage and psychedelia – without losing the golden thread. From the different personal influences rises a fresh sound, which timelessly defies every trend. Last year they released their debut album MOVING MEMORIES.

22 h | CLAAS BRIELER

Claas Brieler is member of the eclectic collective Jazzanova from Berlin. For more than fifteen years Jazzanova has been busy producing, composing, arranging, remixing, djing and generally shaping our musical world – in the clubs, on the air, in the studio, live on stage, and with their label Sonar Kollektiv. Their “very fertile musical world” (Time Out New York) “has dominated the jazz-dance and down-tempo scenes for the past few years, both with its own label and with countless remixes” (Phoenix New Times). Spreading their sounds and ideas with inspired DJ sets, Jazzanova’s DJs were among the first DJs from Berlin in demand all around the world. Jürgen von Knoblauch, Alex Barck and Claas Brieler broaden the music’s appeal as DJs, not only on tour through the best clubs and festivals around the world but also on their weekly radio shows on Radio Eins and Funkhaus Europa.

21 h | MOUSE ON MARS

Mouse on Mars is recognised as one of Germany’s most defining and versatile electronic music projects. With their anarchic mixture of sound that oscillates between uncontrollable chaos and meticulously arranged structures, Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma have forged a unique musical language, which is readily decomposed by the unpredictability of its myriad mutations. This dialectical method, coupled with the capacity for continuous reinvention, is the only constant to be found in the duo’s cooperation. Free from schools of thought, genre conventions, and from the constraints of the music establishment, they have worked under the Mouse on Mars alias for 24 years, mapping their own idiosyncratic trajectory through a no man’s land between pop, art, club music, and the avant-garde.
