Architecture and Landscape in Norway

Photographs by Ken Schluchtmann

Ken Schluchtmann

The exhibition shows a selection of photographs by Ken Schluchtmann, who has documented the ongoing project of Norway’s national tourist routes over many years. The project was initiated in 1994 and is to be completed in 2024. It combines landscape, contemporary architecture, and art along some of Norway’s most scenic routes. Schluchtmann employs a consistent visual language, which creates a strong identity and highlights some of the most beautiful parts of rural Norway. The pure power of the landscape is strengthened by the integration of architecture and art works.
The exhibition is curated by Janike Kampevold Larsen, associate professor at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, who is specialized in landscape theory. The exhibition design by the Berlin creative agency Bluescope emphasizes the unique connection between nature and architecture through large-size pictures that provide a total immersion into the Norwegian landscape.
