Fifteen pupils completing a two- or three-year training program in photography present their independently developed projects at their school. The thematic approaches are as varied as the photographic forms used. Documentary material is presented objectively and with the greatest care, while the view inward seems veiled and mysterious. Thus both the search for social cohesion and the expression of emotionality find their pictorial equivalent. Color and exposure-time experimentation compresses space and time and reorganizes things that initially seem contradictory. The use of analogue photography and its digital manipulation make stolen glances of nighttime scenes possible. The human body’s connection to nature is also addressed, as is food’s relationship to objects and forms. The show offers the viewer insight into a photographic world that goes beyond the academic context.
