LOOKING BACK POSITIVELY ON THE 10TH EDITION OF EMOP BERLIN – THE FINAL DAYS OF THE ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION
Throughout March, EMOP Berlin 2023 – organised by Kulturprojekte Berlin and featuring around 100 partners – has left a hundred thousand visitors in Berlin and Potsdam enchanted with photography. Politics of Touch – EMOP Berlin’s 10th-anniversary exhibition for the 2023 edition – will remain on show at the Amtsalon until 31 March. With works from 40 Berlin-based artists, it highlights the city as a centre of contemporary art production. Many exhibitions will continue beyond March, offering guided tours, artist talks and other events that invite visitors to engage with photography.
PHOTOGRAPHY TOUCHES US ALL – THE OPENING OF EMOP BERLIN 2023
For the 10th edition of EMOP Berlin from 2 to 31 March 2023, over 100 exhibitions and well over 500 participating photographers will transform the metropole into the capital city of photography, where the anniversary edition in Berlin will celebrate 20 years of photography festival culture. Under the guiding theme of Touch and taking the perspectives of participating photographers as its starting point, the festival will be dedicated to ideas such as proximity and distance, technical and cultural innovation, climate change and the energy crisis, the Ukraine conflict, and the future of photographic archives.
EMOP Berlin Celebrates Its 10th Edition
EMOP Berlin will from 2 to 31 March 2023 celebrate 20 years of photography festival culture with a multitude of exhibitions and events interrogating contemporary issues. For the 10th edition of Germany’s largest photography festival, visitors can look forward to exhibitions from around 100 partners across Berlin and Potsdam, the anniversary exhibition Touch: Politics of Touch at the Amtsalon, the special exhibition Urgent Present: The View of the Younger Generation – a collaboration by Berlin’s photography schools – and a launch weekend with local and international guests.
