As a result of unexpected building work, we regret that the exhibition cannot be held at the Gross-Planetarium at present. It will be postponed to a future date. For further information, please go to www.dtmb.de.
This exhibition features large-format views of Berlin city panoramas with a difference. Designed in the form of a photographic montage, the pictures show the Berlin metropolis as an unusual cosmos, located somewhere between reality and fiction. Familiar views of the city are combined with distant solar systems, confronting the viewer with a recognisable and yet strange world one that leaves an abiding impression.
'Sonnen über Berlin' ['Suns over Berlin'] forms part of a multimedia show entitled 'Planet Berlin', scheduled to be given at the Zeiss-Grossplanetarium der Stiftung Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin [Zeiss Planetarium of the German Technology Museum Berlin Foundation]. Special photographic slide projections of panoramic views into the cupola of the planetarium will be an important feature of this future presentation.
The pictures have been designed by Frank-Michael Arndt (born 1954), the planetarium's multimedia producer.
