While Andreas Langfeld’s photographic and artistic work has long been concerned with issues of refugee visibility, he has also gone beyond this to actively include his protagonists in their processes of “becoming-image” – and in the forms of presentation of his work. His latest work continues this extended photodocumentary approach by exploring the imbrication of migration and racism in Berlin’s post-migratory society. In extending his work to include the perspectives of people who are not read within the whiteness that dominates society, he makes their experiences and struggles visible.
