In the exhibition “Do You Have Something to Fight for? 100 Years of Supporting and Shaping”, moderated by Antje Weitzel, Artistic Director of Künstlerhaus Bethanien
The exhibition, marking the 100th anniversary of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, presents a curated selection from the foundation’s art collection alongside contemporary works by former art scholarship recipients. It highlights both the historical and current focal points of the collection while critically examining gaps and the history of its curation.
Magdalena Kallenberger’s artistic practice operates at the intersection of feminist historical and autobiographical narratives. Using media such as video, photography, performance, and text, she explores themes of radical care, the invisibility of care work and motherhood(s), as well as feminist practices.
Cihan Çakmak is a multimedia artist whose work reflects on questions of identity and self-representation between tradition and modernity. Her photographs and self-portraits engage with the deconstruction of the self and the representation of marginalized biographies.
On this special occasion, we invite you to join us in a conversation with the artists about their work and their perspectives on feminism, identity, and social change.
