Holy Woods is a collaborative project by photographers Linn Schröder and Anne Schönharting. The idea arose from a deep-seated need to expand consciousness and from a longing for a ‘new way of seeing’. ‘In the midst of a time marked by violent conflict, socio-political tensions, and the increasing destruction of our natural habitats, we consciously spend time in the forest to resonate with ourselves, each other, and nature. It’s an experiment, a research expedition with a desire to translate invisible sensations into images’. In the imagination of magical realism is a world in which nature resonates with humans, where the rustling of leaves, the wind’s whispering, or the murmurs of a river are not mere physical phenomena, but part of a living interaction. The illusion of separation dissolves and humans and nature enter into dialogue.
