The publication brings together the series Projekte zur Bestätigung des Neuen (Projects to Confirm the New) by Andreas Rost with El Lissitzky's works from the PROUN series. In an elaborately crafted book, two opposing book blocks create a very special visual dialogue that allows a variety of approaches and viewing options. Rost's works were created in Minsk during night-time wanderings in the ‘formal worlds of Stalinist architecture’, which for him symbolises the inhumanity of totalitarian social systems.

El Lissitzky developed his Proune from 1919 onwards as a geometric vocabulary of forms, as part of his vision from the surface into space to architecture. In Sarah Thußbas' conception, a separate object was created that brings the design and visual language of both artists into a special spatial interaction.

Andreas Rost works as a freelance photographer, curator, lecturer and author in Berlin.

Sarah Thussbas works as a graphic designer in Berlin.
