Drawing on fragments of his father’s secret life as a U.S. Air Force counterintelligence agent, Honegger’s project blends historical research, family archives, re-discovered photographs, and imagination to re-create a world of intrigue, mystery, and unanswered questions. Michael Honegger is a German-born visual artist based in Nice, France, whose work explores self-portraiture, memory, family, and American culture, with his photography exhibited internationally and published in outlets like The Economist, The Guardian, and Amnesty International.
