Photos in Books: FOTOHOF>EDITION I Wolfgang Vollmer: HENRY ROX REVUE
Approach to the Biography and the Photographic Work

The Henry Rox Revue combines artistic masterpieces between acrobatics, music and dance with the bizarreities of everyday life – the impossible is captured here in unique photographs in which a wide variety of roles are played by various fruits and vegetables as the main characters. The few documents, photographs and references to Henry Rox's work are spread across many archives and collections in America and Europe. There has never been a comprehensive publication or a detailed categorisation of his work. Wolfgang Vollmer has succeeded in the surprising rediscovery of an impressive artistic position and talks about the remarkable story of an artist from Berlin who was threatened and persecuted because of his Jewish faith and had to leave Germany in 1934.

Wolfgang Vollmer (*1952) is a German photographer, artist, collector, curator and lecturer in photography.
