In a world where perception is coloured by preconception, it’s worth looking at what deviates from the norm. Experimenting with light, optics, and different cameras, Frank Ockenfels uses an array of media such as photography, painting, and collage to probe the boundaries of art and photography. His exhibition Introspection invites viewers to explore the unexpected. Through his playful and spontaneous approach, Ockenfels’s portraits of world-famous actors and musicians, altered through scissors, ink, and charcoal – sometimes with brutal radicality – become a reflection of his inner world.
