This exhibition by the FEMALE PHOTOCLUB examines the invisible boundaries running through our society. At a time when conflicts and divisions are on the increase, the photographs illuminate the fine line between closeness and distance, familiarity and strangeness, community and isolation.

The photographers’ diverse works encourage reflection and offer subjective perspectives on current social issues. They address personal and collective experience and reflect on what separates and what unites us. Through a non-cis-male perspective, the medium of photography is used to point to social barriers and to possibilities of overcoming them.

The exhibition Invisible Lines. Reflections of the Present creates a dialogue between the art photographers’ individual perspectives and the larger social structures. It calls on us to reflect on the fractures of our time and to find ways to move beyond them.
