Nan Goldin: This Will Not End Well
Nan Goldin

The retrospective at the Neue Nationalgalerie is the first exhibition in Germany to provide a comprehensive overview of Goldin’s work. Nan Goldin (b. 1953) is one of the most famous artists of our time. Her exploration of the human experience shapes her work and has had a profound influence on subsequent generations. Goldin photographed the world of her closest circle of friends. Her images are snapshots of intimacy and partnership, of everyday life and wild parties, of the struggle between autonomy and dependence.

The six works in the exhibition are installed in unique buildings designed by the architect Hala Wardé, who often works with Goldin. Each building was specially designed for the individual series of works. Together, they form a ‘village of slide shows’. After opening in Stockholm and Amsterdam, the exhibition is now on view at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.
