Sabine Schründer: ZERO CENTER
Sabine Schründer

In ZERO CENTER, Sabine Schründer presents several new series and individual images with objects removed from time and space. The seemingly suspended constructions of stone formations, wooden boards, and metal struts offer a universally abstract legibility, creating a system of signs that refuses to comply with the currently prevailing tendencies of social fragmentation. In their symbolic nature, they circle around a non-existent centre in calm detachment. These photographs, installed as short sequences, tableaux, and individual images, are complemented by pictures of various graphic grids, a recurring motif in Schründer’s work and the first step in every territorial new beginning and geographical location. Here they function as the coordinates of an expandable space for thought.
