Emilie Delugeau
Émilie Delugeau

In the fall of 2017, Emilie Delugeau and her daughter Emma moved into their current apartment on Eisenbahnstrasse in Kreuzberg. Since then, she has been asked several times if, as a single mother, she wouldn’t rather move back to her native country of France. This question seemed to preoccupy the people around her so much that she soon began asking herself what exactly ‘home’ is. Is it a place, a language, a landscape or a feeling? Is home where you are, where you come from, or where you were born? In search of answers to these questions, she began photographing her immediate surroundings whenever she saw something that felt like home.

All the prints from the series Zu Hause were made in the ateliers of Philippe Le Besconte's Villa Pérochon. The framings were made by Émilie Grégoire, (Atelier du cadre, Niort).

This work was produced thanks to the support of the City of Niort, the Ministry of Culture/DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Conseil Régional Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Villa Pérochon is a member of the Astre network in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the national Diagonal network. It receives support from Inter-Mutuelle-Assistance, Territorial-Mutuelle, Groupe IMA, l'atelier du cadre and l'imprimerie nouvelle.
