Die Uferhallen
The other venue is the Uferhallen, the new centre for art and culture in the heart of Berlin's Wedding district a still relatively unfamiliar location for events. In the buildings of the former BVG bus depot, various exhibitions are being shown on the occasion of the Third European Month of Photography, all drawn from the work of contemporary photographic artists.
The group exhibition 'Die Annahme von Werten' [The Assumption of Values'] shows the work of six lady photographers from Berlin, each investigating a different aspect of value through the medium of photography.
'The Danube River Project' by Andreas Müller-Pohle presents the 2800 kilometres of the Danube river at its best known points. The photos have been created underwater, on the surface of the water and as views seen from the river.
The walk-in large-format camera 'Imago' of the artist Susanna Kraus makes it possible for visitors to experience the inner life of a camera of outsize dimensions, and create life-size portraits on a 1 to 1 scale. Photographs that have recently been created with the Imago will also be on view.
Munich photographer Peter Neusser shows new works from his 'STRATA II' series, in which he engages with structures from his urban environment and from nature.
