SOWIESO (Anyway) presents works by the graduating class of Eva Bertram; it is the first of two consecutive degree exhibitions by students of The New School for Photography Berlin scheduled for the fall of 2014.
Over a period of one and a half years, seven students developed individual photographic works that reflect their motivation, interests, and aims. By investigating their social environment, the manifestations of past structures, and the prevalence of the media, they create the conditions for new perspectives and visions. While two of the graduates have focussed on commission-based photography, others present a conceptual, sociological approach to photography or work in installation. Further positions take a more personal approach and demonstrate how states of conservation can lead to decay or isolation.
