Nervous Systems – Photo variations
Interpretations of a quantified life
The exhibition consists of photographs taken during the Mini-Fotomarathon Berlin in the context of Nervous Systems: quantified life and the social question, an exhibition organized by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in collaboration with the Tactical Technology Collective. Nervous Systems explored how notions of identity and society undergo change in a time when we are increasingly becoming part of vast technological networks and infrastructures and abstract laws of the market translate into subjective experience and concrete activity.
Over four hours, participants of the Mini-Fotomarathon were challenged to interpret six topics, all of them related to the content and narratives of the exhibition. To allow visitors of the European Month of Photography Berlin 2016 to experience the creative process that underlies the making of the photos, a second Mini-Fotomarathon will take place on October 8, 2016. In addition, the exhibition will also show a selection of photo series created for the 2016 summer Fotomarathon theme Beyond limits | borders.
