Off We Go

Laura Brichta, Robert Schittko, Felicitas von Lutzau

Take Off: three of Professor Martin Liebscher’s students at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach, Satellite Berlin, explore shifts in perception and reality that arise in transfer, when motifs and meanings join to create unexpected pictorial landscapes. In Laura Brichta’s fragile compositions, various body parts intertwine to create ambivalent and surreal pictorial worlds in an interplay between bodily plasticity and an abstract level of presentation. The hyperreal summit landscapes of Felicitas von Lutzau take us to cosmic temporal zones; using long-term exposure and flashlights, she liberates the visual world of the Alpine landscape in constructs of extraterrestrial dimensions. Robert Schittko’s material-intensive installations come across as descriptions of intimate moments. Internet images humorously reflect a personal perspective on the self in labyrinthine dimensions.
