BEATE GÜTSCHOW

Born 1970 / 1993 to 2000 studied art at Hamburg University of Fine Arts / 2009 to 2010 guest professor at Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig / 2011 to present: professor at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne / Participated in numerous national and international group and solo exhibitions / Work held in public collections including Guggenheim New York; Kunsthaus Zürich, LACMA; Museum Folkwang, Essen; Museum for Contemporar y Photography, Chicago; Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Städel Museum, Frankfurt; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York / Prizes and awards include scholarship to Villa Aurora in Los Angeles (2001); Otto Dix Award / IBM Art Prize for New Media, Gera (2001); “ars viva” Fine Arts Award (2006) / Beate Gütschow lives and works in Cologne and Berlin.

SIMONE KLEIN

Born 1967 / Studied histor y of art, French and German literature and linguistics at Bonn University and at the Sorbonne in Paris / 1996 assistant at the Kicken Gallery in Cologne / 1997 to 2007 director of the photography department at the Kunsthaus Lempertz auction house in Cologne / 2007 to 2015 director of the photography department at Sotheby’s Europe / Since 2015 global director of print sales at Magnum Photos, sales of vintage and contemporary material, art fairs and printroom programming, international business development / Simone Klein lives and works in Paris and Cologne.

 

 

 

MARTIN ROTH

Born 1955 / PhD from the University of Tübingen / 1987 researcher at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Paris / 1989 to 2001 curator at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin / 1991 to 2000 Director of the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden / 1992 visiting scholar at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles / 1995 to 2003 President of the German Museums Association and member of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Advisory Board (until 2011) / 1996 to 2001 member of senior management of the Expo 2000 in Hannover and director of Thematic Exhibitions / 2001 to 2011 Director General of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, overseeing 12 museums and galleries / 2011 to present: Director of the V& A , London / Trustee of the British Council, London, and the Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris / Member of the Council of the RCA and the Court of Imperial College in London / Martin Roth lives and works in London.

ELKE BUHR

Born 1971 / Studied German and journalism in Bochum, Dortmund and Bologna / Journalist for newspapers including the Die Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau and taz. die tageszeitung and at German public broadcaster WDR / Articles have appeared in magazines including ART and Texte zur Kunst and in Die Zeit weekly newspaper / 2008 to present: Editor of Monopol—Magazine for Art and Life in Berlin, becoming Editor-in-Chief in 2016 / Elke Buhr lives and works in Berlin.
