GERRY BADGER

Born 1948 / Studied architecture at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee, graduating in 1969 / 1966 to present: freelance photographer, architect, author and photographic critic / Works featured in solo and group exhibitions and in a number of public and private collections such as the V&A, MoMA, Bibliothèque nationale de France / Curated exhibitions include The Photographer as Printmaker (1980) for the Arts Council of Great Britain, and Through the Looking Glass: Post-war British Photography (1989) for the Barbican Arts Centre, London / Author of numerous monographs, articles, essays and books on photography / Awarded several prizes, e. g. the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis, Kraszna-Krausz Book Award, ICP Infinity Writer’s Award, New York / Gerr y Badger lives in London.

IRMA BOOM

Born 1960 / BFA in graphic design from AKI Academy of Art & Design in Enschede, Holland / Worked for five years at the publishing and printing office of the Dutch government / 1991 founded Irma Boom Office specializing in making books for cultural and commercial sectors / 1992 appointed to the Yale faculty where she is currently senior critic in graphic design / Clients include the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Aga Khan Foundation for Architects, MoMA, Prince Claus Fund, Ferrari, the UN, and OMA /Rem Koolhaas / Worked for five years editing and designing the 2,136-page SHV Think Book 1996–1896 for SHV Holdings, published in English and Chinese / Book designs have won numerous awards / Youngest ever laureate to receive the Gutenberg Prize for her complete oeuvre / Irma Boom Archive managed by Amsterdam University / Work held in MoMA permanent collection / Irma Boom lives and works in Amsterdam.

BRUNO CESCHEL 

Born 1976 / Studied at the University of Trento, Italy / Lecturer in photography at University of the Arts, London / Visiting lecturer at ECAL, Lausanne / 2010 founded Self Publish, Be Happy (SPBH), an organization that supports and promotes emerging photographers / Organized with SPBH events at Tate Modern, The Photographers’ Gallery, ICA, Serpentine Galleries, Aperture Foundation and Kunsthal Charlottenborg / Also Director of SPBH Editions, which has most recently published books by Broomberg & Chanarin, Lucas Blalock, Mariah Robertson, Gareth McConnell and Lorenzo Vitturi / Writes regularly for publications including FOAM, The British Journal of Photography and Aperture Magazine / Guest Editor of Photography and Culture, Ojo de Pez and The PhotoBook Review / 2015 published his book Self Publish, Be Happy: A DIY

LESLEY A . MARTIN

Born 1970 / 1991 PhD from Miami University / Creative Director at Aperture Foundation, and publisher of PhotoBook Review / Editor of numerous photobooks, including by Takashi Homma, Rinko Kawauchi, LaToya Ruby Frazier, and recent books by Richard Misrach and Gregory Crewdson / Worked on The Chinese Photobook, contributing editor to Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and ’70s, and The Latin American Photobook / 2012 cofounded the Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards / Curator of national and international travelling exhibitions incl. Ubiquitous Image (2008), Aperture Remix (2012) and Muse: Mickalene Thomas Photographs (2016) / Writing on photography published in Aperture, FOAM, Ojo de Pez and Lay Flat, among others / Currently teaches the graduate course on the photobook at the Yale University School of Art / Lesley A. Martin lives and works in New York City.
