Im Gegenüber (Face to Face)

The present time envelops each of us almost automatically in an individually determined number of photographs while we proceed through our identities across various media. Our being, then, is visually accompanied by a swarm of largely spontaneous ‘clicks’ that continually grows and changes. Fewer and fewer of these photographs are printed; the large majority of them fluctuate as binary codes in digital channels and across various screens. Each of them works in a different way, ‘fanning out’ at the moment in which the light of an image falls on the light-sensitive picture surface and inscribes itself there for all time. A creative exploration of this interface generates unique images that possess an inherent resistance as a face-to-face counterpart.
