IN TRANSIT - Night and Life
Participatory projectIN TRANSIT – NACHT & LEBEN (Night & Life) goes on a search for traces of the ‘escape into a new world’ and shows photographic works from IN TRANSIT – The View of the Other, which is presented at Ostkreuz at the same time. The positions of more than 50 photographers enter into dialogue with images by fellow citizens who communicate their view of social and urban transformation in photographs. For this night, Kunstraum Art-Uhr is transformed by Lydia Rödel (JVA) and Julia Rogge (stage designer) into an IN TRANSIT space inspired by the so-called ‘bunker’ of the correctional facility in Moabit.

Photojournalism
Workshop with the photographer Robert KnothIn our digital world, which confronts audiences with a flood of images every day, photojournalism has an important status. This workshop is intended to support photographers in designing their series of photojournalistic images and in developing a strong personal visual language. The workshop with the internationally renowned photographer Robert Knoth (www.robertknoth.com) will focus on: discussion of the works presented, improving photographic forms of expression, completing the project conception, optimisation of the narrative, and editing.

Focus on Faces
Workshop for childrenThe goal of portrait photography is to bring out the characteristic essence of the subject. How was the man, the woman or the child portrayed – objectively, naturally or dramatically? What message did the model or the photographer want to convey, and with what artistic ambitions? How do different photographers’ portraits of the same person differ? The students will photograph each other in groups and present their results for discussion.
