Graduates’ Exhibition of the Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin

Zoe Caspari, Alexander Fichert, Ismini Goula, Joe Kake, Boris Kramaric, Constanze Kratzsch, Anja Putensen, Lena Wessel

The students of the graduating class of the Neue Schule für Fotografie under the direction of Eva Maria Ocherbauer search in individual ways for visual expressions of existential questions. Time and again they focus on the relationship between individual and object and on encounters with the unfamiliar and with the self – in documentary and in posed photographs. The goal is a distanced, different view of social phenomena and a vicariously assumed “other person’s view”, which is often closer to our own than we suspect. Encounters and confrontations with one’s own psyche are found side by side with humorous approaches and aesthetic experiences. The different artistic positions are not isolated, but interact with one another in the space and offer the viewer a wide range of interpretations.
