KOMINEK
KOMINEK
The publisher Kominek Books is part of Michael Kominek’s Berlin gallery of the same name, which represents ar tists such as Irina Ruppert, Greg Girard and Birthe Piontek. Kominek Books has produced publications from photographers such as Alec Soth, Viviane Sassen, Enrique Metinides and Greg Girad. Kominek Books considers the photography book a work of art: “It is the final form for a photographic work and the actual artwork of a photographer. The printed paper, layout, typography, the sequence, all this is a combination of different arts that makes the final piece of art. Why a photobook? To tell a stor y in pictures, or is it more to express ourselves in another language and not be always strictly narrative? Bookmaking is an ancient process, which is still the strongest for us when it comes to tell a stor y with documentary photography.”
