MA X WELL ANDERSON / BEMOJAKE
Maxwell Anderson is a photographer and publisher whose London studio is also the base for Bemojake, the independent publishing company he set up in 2011. Selected as one of the Magenta Foundation’s 2012 Flash Forward winners, Anderson’s experience in photobook publishing began with an internship with Chris Boot Ltd. His first self-published book, See You Soon (2010), was selected by The Guardian’s Sean O’Hagan as one of the best photography books of the year and featured in three of Photo-Eye’s Best Book lists. In 2012 Anderson published Work In Progress, a photographic sketchbook created for C/O Berlin’s Book Days. Bemojake also publishes books by other artists including Personal Matters (2013) by young Japanese photographer Motohiko Hasui, Vanity (2014) by former fashion model Coco Young, and Short Flashes (2016) by the LOBP award-winner W. Wojciechowska, which was nominated for the 2016 Arles Author Book Award.
